Jane Cleland - Subplots Aren’t Secondary - Integrating two subplots into your story doesn’t merely add delicious complexity—subplots also help control pacing and serve as scaffolding, supporting and serving your primary plot. One subplot should focus on an interpersonal issue; the other should relate to a nonfiction element of your story. This workshop details how to choose meaty and relevant subplots and how to integrate them into your primary plot seamlessly for maximum effect. We’ll also discuss a four-step checklist to help you develop appropriate subplots.
Cost: Free to VOS members, $5 for non-members. Guests can send their payment via PayPal to vostreasurer@gmail.com.
